Accenture moves into Sihlstrasse office
As the first step in occupying its new city campus, Accenture has moved into its Sihlstrasse office. This transition from Fraumünster to Sihlstrasse and Pelikanstrasse marks an important development for the global IT and technology consultancy.
To celebrate the occasion, Accenture has shared insights on the significance of the move and its vision for the new space.
The new Accenture city campus in Zurich spans multiple buildings with a total area of over 9,000 square metres. On Sihlstrasse, Accenture occupies the Spengler House, a former department store whose predecessor housed the renowned Scala Cinema. On Pelikanstrasse, Accenture has become the new tenant of Felsenhof, which was once home to the prominent Swiss industrialist family Escher.
«The two buildings on Sihlstrasse and Pelikanstrasse provide an inspiring environment for the workplace of tomorrow. We have created a workspace that bridges tradition and modernity. The historic buildings give the new location character and identity, while the workplace design provides optimal conditions for innovative work,» says Tanya Ruegg, partner and creative director at Evolution Design, as well as the lead architect of the project.
Collaborative Work Environment
«The needs of employees have changed significantly due to the pandemic and ongoing digitalisation. New Work is not just a buzzword for us at Accenture, but a lived reality,» says Marco Huwiler, country manager of Accenture Switzerland. «Our new location is designed to create an inspiring work environment that fosters creativity, autonomy, and collaboration among our employees.»
Workspaces include open collaboration areas, quiet zones for focused work, modern meeting rooms, and cosy coffee points. The basement of the Sihlstrasse office features a multifunctional sports room, a workshop for prototype development, and a studio for video recordings and streaming. Special attention has also been paid to the needs of neurodiverse employees, with considerations for acoustics, colour design, and greenery in the planning of different workspaces.
Experience Technology Firsthand
Technology also plays a prominent role at the new location. In the Spengler House, Accenture has opened a new Generative AI Studio, where clients can experience the technologies of generative AI and cloud computing through various applications in financial services, banking, insurance, retail, and life sciences.
«With our new Gen-AI Studio, we are providing Swiss companies with a tool to keep pace with the most innovative players in the global market,» says Marco Huwiler. «We are convinced that technologies like generative AI and cloud are the key to future growth and sustainable success.»
