The opening of the Accenture City Campus

Accenture Switzerland has officially opened its new Zurich campus, marking a significant milestone for the global IT and technology consultancy. The new city campus, located in two buildings in central Zurich, was unveiled during a celebratory event attended by clients, partners, and industry leaders.

Marco Huwiler, senior managing director and country managing director of Accenture Switzerland, highlighted the remarkable transformation of both buildings, particularly the former Interdiscount building on Sihlstrasse, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from visitors.

The decision to embark on this ambitious project was made during the pandemic, a time when many questioned the future of office spaces. «Looking back, I still remember how many people thought we were rather bold when we announced our plans for the new office in the middle of the pandemic. Back then, many were convinced that the office was dead and the future belonged to flexible working only,» he stated in his LinkedIn post. «But we had always believed in the importance of collaboration and innovating together—both of which can only happen when people come together in a setting that inspires them to be creative.»

The new Accenture campus reflects this vision, offering an inspiring environment where teams can collaborate on groundbreaking projects, including advancements in robotics and generative AI.

During the opening event, our team, including Tanya Ruegg, Claudia Berkefeld, and Stefan Camenzind, served as guides, leading visitors through the building and explaining the transformation of the spaces into a cohesive workplace.

«We are thrilled to see so many intrigued people and to answer their questions about Accenture’s workplace concept. The two buildings on Sihlstrasse and Pelikanstrasse provide an inspiring environment for the workplace of tomorrow. We have created a workspace that bridges tradition and modernity. The historic buildings give the new location character and identity, while the workplace design provides optimal conditions for innovative work,» says Tanya Ruegg, partner and creative director at Evolution Design, as well as the lead architect of the project.
