Flexible apartment fit-out

Flexibility to allow for maximum comfort was the main criteria in planning the micro apartments. Each unit, approx. 22 sqm in size, was designed to be equipped with a number of foldable and movable elements, like a sofa that doubles as a desk and a bed that folds up into the wall. A 'smart' wall consisting of a built-in kitchen unit and ample storage space was intended to complement the micro living concept – smart use of limited space. This fit-out concept was developed during the design phase, though not implemented in the final project, it reflects our approach to making compact living genuinely comfortable and adaptable.

Community spirit in the living room

A concept we envisioned for the ground floor of the building was a communal area designed to resemble a living room, where residents could cook and dine together, play games, entertain or learn together. Located behind the kitchen area, an elegant launderette – encased by sleek glazed partition walls – would have become part of the 'living' space, so the time spent waiting for laundry could be used for socialising or learning in a fun atmosphere. While this concept wasn't realised in this iteration, it remains an inspiration for future projects.
