Felsenhof building receives SNBS Platinum certification
Felsenhof building receives the highest sustainability certification in Switzerland.
We are proud to announce that the Felsenhof building – one of the two Accenture campus buildings in Zurich – has achieved the SNBS Platinum certification — the highest distinction for sustainable construction in Switzerland.
This remarkable achievement makes Felsenhof only the second renovated building in the country to ever reach this level. The Standard for Sustainable Building in Switzerland (SNBS) is known for its stringent and holistic criteria, assessing not only ecological factors but also economic aspects and social quality. Beyond carbon footprint and energy performance, aspects such as lifecycle costs, access to daylight, and opportunities for social interaction play an essential role.
«The renovation of this historic building demonstrates what is possible when owners, we as tenants, architects, and contractors work together towards a shared vision,» says Marco Huwiler, Accenture’s Country Managing Director for Switzerland. «As a frequent user of our office, I find the result of the renovation to be more than stunning. It’s definitely not your ‘usual’ office – but one with character, warmth, and a lot of soul.»
Working on this project has been particularly rewarding as we have helped transform a nearly century-old building into a highly sustainable workplace in the heart of Zurich – one that has a positive impact on both the environment and the people who use it every day. «It is a respectful spatial transformation that respects the heritage, has an individual flair, and a strong sense of identity – qualities we believe are essential for contemporary work environments,» says Tanya Ruegg, creative director of Evolution Design and lead architect of the project.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved for their commitment and outstanding collaboration: Swiss Life as the property owner, Jaeger Coneco AG and ISG as general contractors, our client Accenture, Takt Baumanagement as project manager, and Alpha IC Schweiz together with CSD Engineers for their support in the certification process.
As the Felsenhof building approaches its 100-year anniversary in 2027, it stands as a powerful example that “old” is not only “gold”, but can indeed become “platinum.”
