JED is a property owned and developed by Swiss Prime Site and its core idea is to establish a creative and dynamic business environment for collaboration, networking and innovation with total floor area of 36,000 square meters. As part of the redevelopment scheme, we adapted several print halls, warehouses and administration blocks of the former Neue Zürcher Zeitung printing facility into offices, coworking spaces, labs, event venues and restaurants. In our design approach, we prioritised connectivity and spatial flexibility whilst maintaining the qualities of the original building fabric.
«Our architectural vision of creating comfortable and connected spaces that people love using has become a reality. An industrial site, which has so much history and character, continues living on in the shape of a modern hub for work, exchanging knowledge and meeting people,» says Stefan Camenzind, partner and executive director of Evolution Design.
