Winners of the Architekturpreis Kanton Zürich announced
On the 6th of October 2022, the foundation “Award for good buildings in the canton of Zurich” announced the winners of the prestigious Architecture Prize of Canton Zurich. Among the 124 submitted projects was also our project JED – the conversion of the former NZZ print works. Evolution Design team attended the ceremony to find out the winners.
Every three years, the foundation distinguishes exemplary buildings and special services in urban planning in the canton of Zurich and thereby promotes public awareness and open discourse. The projects submitted are assessed by an independent jury from the areas of architecture, urban development, culture and public.
In 2022, the jury selected three projects as the overall winners: The Kuppe housing estate in Horgen, the customs house in Zurich and the centre of Brütten.
«It was an honour to participate in this year’s Architekturpreis Kanton Zürich with such a visionary project like JED. Even though we were not among the award winners, JED stands out for its qualities – it has a strong community spirit and acts as an innovation and collaboration hub for likeminded businesses. We have given the existing buildings another lease of life and turned the former print works into a dynamic, human-centred hub,» says Jessica Mentz, JED project lead and associate at Evolution Design.
All submitted projects can be viewed in the Architekturforum Zürich until the 9th of November 2022.
