The heart of the event areas at JED is the main venue – the former printing hall that has been transformed into a spectacular location both for private and corporate events. With its 11-meter-high ceilings, exposed ventilation system and illuminated logo of the «Neue Zürcher Zeitung», the venue pays homage to the building’s industrial past. Sandblasted concrete finishes and steel structures further enhance the authentic industrial flair.
«Thanks to its impressive room height and the preserved industrial flair, the event hall forms a contrast to the other event areas in JED. Guests can enjoy a spectacular view of the hall from the entrance via the large gallery on the 1st floor,» describes Nicolai Squarra, host and partner at JED Events. The 1’100-square-meter venue is available for events with up to 620 guests, or 840 with special permission.
With windows that can be darkened, the venue offers the perfect setting for both day and evening events. The audio, video and lighting technology enable fast and efficient implementation of various event scenarios.
«Effectively adapting this building from an industrial space into an inviting and modern event location was a challenge. We had to take into account needs around technical solutions, the requirement to seat up to 840 people, acoustics and IT infrastructure while still preserving the industrial feel and acknowledging the building’s past,» says Jessica Mentz, project lead and associate at Evolution Design.
